Teeth Whitening With Trays

  1. Before bleaching, thoroughly brush and floss your teeth.  This will ensure that the bleach reaches all nooks and crannies.
  2. After brushing and flossing, place a small amount (about the size of a ballpoint pen) of bleach into each tooth, skipping over any teeth that have crowns (as they cannot be whitened).
  3. Next you will place the bleach tray with the bleach in it, into your mouth.  When placing, be sure to lightly press on the surface of your teeth to express the bleach thoroughly around each tooth.
  4. Take a Q-tip and wipe away any excess bleach that has overflowed out of the tray and onto your gums.  Bleach on your gums can burn them to a white filmy texture (that is NOT permanent).
  5. Leave the bleach on your teeth for the appointed time.  15% — 4-6 hours; 20% — 2-4 hours; 35% — 30 minutes.
  6. Take the bleach tray out of your mouth and immediately brush both your teeth and the bleach tray making sure to clean ALL remaining bleach away.
  7. Store trays in the case provided and in a cool location.
  8. Store the whitening material in the refrigerator (not the freezer).
  9. Repeat this daily for two weeks or until bleach material is gone.
  10. If you have sensitivity, bleach every other day or three days.  You may also try using Sensodyne toothpaste or any toothpaste high in baking soda (Arm &Hammer).
